Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) provides nutrition instruction to low-income families, especially those with young children.

- Prepare and preserve food safely
- Learn about good nutrition and health practices
Paraprofessionals, trained by the University of California, provide instruction for small groups. Federal guidelines for participation in the program require that a family's income be below a certain level of that they be receiving benefits from other federally assisted programs or schools where 50% or more students are receiving free or reduced price meal.
The Inyo and Mono Counties Cooperative Extension office offers EFNEP to community agencies, organizations and schools, at no cost to qualifying participants. Please contact our office for more information.
